53. Project Spotlight: Community Impact, from Coast to Coast

Our 120 kW project at 1440 South Sepulveda Boulevard in Los Angeles, CA.

For nearly a decade, Sunwealth has been dedicated to making a local impact – through partnerships with community banks, small solar developers, installers, and local organizations – while expanding our reach in new markets across the country.

Two of our recent projects highlight the scale of this impact, from the East to West Coast.

In South Burlington, VT, Sunwealth completed a 223-kW solar project at Beta Technologies, situated on their 40-acre campus at the Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport. Beta is an electric aerospace company that designs and manufactures electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) and electric conventional takeoff and landing (eCTOL) aircraft and supporting charging infrastructure. Since its inception in 2017, Beta has installed electric charging stations at 19 locations, with more than 55 others on the way, and plans to have almost 150 online by 2025. Companies such as UPS, Blade, Air New Zealand, and United Therapeutics have already ordered Beta’s aircraft, which are currently undergoing certification.

The project, developed in partnership with SunCommon, is located on Beta’s Maintenance & Training building, and includes a south-facing vertical array – a first for Sunwealth [see above].

Over the operational lifetime of the project, it will provide $60,700 in electricity savings, offset 4,500 metric tons of carbon, and generate about 8 solar job years.

Installation at 1440 South Sepulveda Boulevard in Los Angeles, CA.

3,000 miles away, a shimmering Sunwealth solar array sits atop 1440 South Sepulveda Boulevard, an office complex in Los Angeles, CA. The rooftop project was developed in partnership with ReVamp Energy, a local, minority-owned solar contractor, and a new partner for Sunwealth. 1440 South Sepulveda is newly renovated and owned by Beacon Capital Partners, and our project is one of many efforts to achieve Beacon’s goal of reaching net-zero by 2050.

The 120 kW project will generate $183,000 in energy savings, offset over 3,600 tons of carbon emissions, and generate four solar job years over its operational lifetime.
