Sunwealth® Welcomes Julia Renner as Project Associate Northeastern University Grad Joins Renewable Energy Investment Fund

Sunwealth, the clean energy investment firm breaking down barriers to solar investment in underserved markets, today announced that Julia Renner has joined the organization as Project Associate. In this new role, she will support the organization’s project development and asset management activities, as well as oversee the organization’s internship program.

Prior to joining Sunwealth as a full-time employee, Renner completed an internship with the organization this spring through the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center’s clean energy internship program, while enrolled as a full-time student at Northeastern University. She graduated this May with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, earning her degree with Honors and with magna cum laude distinction. This spring, Renner received Northeastern’s prestigious Dr. Carl F. Muckenhoupt Scholarship, for students who “will use their training in science to better the environment of the earth and the life upon it.”

“Julia is a quick learner who understands both the science of climate change and the business of renewable energy production,” said Jon Abe, Chief Executive Officer at Sunwealth. “During her internship, she hit the ground running, and brought immediate value to our partnerships with solar developers, host sites and off-takers. She’s already become an integral part of our team, but we are delighted to have her join us full-time to strengthen our project and asset management.”

“Working in government, nonprofit and research institutions (during my time at Northeastern) has convinced me that the clean energy sector needs to become competitive with fossil fuels in our lifetime. The private market has a key role to play in making this happen, and how we do it matters,” said Renner. “Everyone at Sunwealth is committed not only to addressing climate change, but to expanding access to renewable energy and advancing social justice. I’m excited to embark on my professional career in an organization committed to building an energy future that is sustainable, affordable and inclusive.”
