A Recap of Sunwealth’s Quarterly Investor Call

On June 9, 2021, Sunwealth Chief Development Officer Jess Brooks got together with CEO Jon Abe and Director of Capital Markets Darreck Mitchell to host a Investor Update webinar for current and prospective investors. They provided an overview of Sunwealth’s activity to date, case studies of recently completed projects and glimpse of projects in our pipeline for the remainder of the year. They also talked about new opportunities we see on the horizon and provided a quick snapshot of our current investment offerings, which will help fund them.

Highlights:

  • Through the end of Q1 2021, Sunwealth has invested over $55 million in more than 425 community-based solar projects providing clean energy and savings to our power purchasers, while supporting green jobs and revenues for local solar developers and installers across 13 states and the District of Columbia.

  • Our power purchasers continue to pay us for power, and we have delivered 25 consecutive quarters of targeted returns to investors with no defaults.

  • Sunwealth’s projects deliver $0.52 of lifetime energy savings for every $1 invested.

  • Our team is growing. We’re now at 25 employees. >40% of our team are women; >35% are people of color.

  • In 2021, Impact Assets named Sunwealth to its IA50 list of notable impact fund managers.

  • Recent project highlights include installations w/ the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) in Queens, NY, the Orange Water and Sewer Authority (OWASA) in Chapel Hill, NC, the new Akamai headquarters in Cambridge, MA and a low-income community solar project with Congregation Beth Elohim that will provides discounted power to income eligible residents of Greater Boston.

  • Pipeline highlights include low-income community solar projects in New Jersey and Massachusetts, among others.

  • Sunwealth continues to partner with community organizations, industry advocates and environmental justice groups to advocate for equitable access to solar for low-income communities here in Massachusetts and beyond. CEO Jon Abe provided an update on these activities.

  • Director of Capital Markets Darreck Mitchell shared an update on Sunwealth’s Solar Impact Bond and Tax Equity Offerings, which will close later this summer.

  • The session closed with the team responding to Q&A from attendees.
