Meet the Team: cassandra collins

Here at Sunwealth, we’re building a hard-working team committed to building a better clean energy future. Today, we shine a spotlight on Investor Management Associate, Cassandra Collins.

Cassandra joined Sunwealth from Needham Bank, where she worked as a Credit Analyst. Her previous experience also includes a role in compliance at Slate Path Capital LLC. Cassandra graduated from Babson College with a degree in Business Administration in 2020.

We sat down with Cassandra to hear more about why she’s passionate about her work.

On what brought her to Sunwealth:
I learned about Sunwealth through my former employer. After I saw an open position, I met with Omar and Jon and really appreciated their energy and the fact that I could work in an industry I wanted to be in while doing something good for the environment. It’s interesting to me that I can grow my career in the way that I want while also doing something to help inequality at the same time. Everyone on the team is passionate about what we do and such genuine people, I’m glad to be part of it.

On her favorite part of working at Sunwealth:
I can grow professionally while helping the planet and playing an active role in achieving a net-zero energy future. Also, working with such a great group of people from diverse backgrounds and interests has allowed me to expand my worldview at the same time.

On her vision of a better clean energy future:
One of Sunwealth’s projects is right near my hometown. It’s actually on a building that I used to swim in. When I was home recently, I took my family and friends past it, and they were surprised. I think it would be so cool if more buildings that are part of our everyday lives start to use solar and it stops being such a novelty and it becomes the norm.

On what solar justice means to her:
[Solar justice] is so important. In starting this new energy industry, and as we start to move towards a net-zero energy future, we need to make sure that we’re creating jobs and maintaining, or exceeding, current levels of employment. If we’re trying to improve the world, we can’t be taking away jobs from people who need them at the same time.

On what drives her:
There’s only so much I can do on my own to create the future that we’re working towards at Sunwealth. By working with this company, I’m able to join a team that exponentially increases the impact I can make.
